Commercial properties have a way of blending into the background when the landscaping gets neglected. Dead shrubs, clogged gutters, bare beds - it all adds up. That was the situation at Humboldt Utilities, and the fix was simpler than you might think.
We started with the basics - cleared out the gutters and pulled the dead bushes that were dragging the whole look down. Once the beds were clean and prepped, we brought in fresh black mulch and installed new shrubs to fill things back out. The black mulch really does the heavy lifting here. It gives the beds a clean, finished look that makes everything around it look sharper too.
We also handled a tree ring in the parking lot area - brick edging laid in a tight circle, fresh black mulch packed in, and a few small plants added around the base. It's a small detail, but it keeps the space looking intentional and maintained rather than forgotten.
That's really what a landscape clean up comes down to - removing what's dead, refreshing what's there, and making sure the property looks like someone actually cares for it. For a utility office that serves the public, that kind of curb appeal matters more than people realize.
Simple updates like these don't require a full landscape overhaul. Sometimes it's just about getting in, doing the work right, and leaving the property looking the way it should.
